Nevada Development Authority Launches Second Phase of Campaign to Recruit New Jersey Businesses

LAS VEGAS, Oct. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- The Nevada Development Authority (NDA) starts the second phase of their recruitment campaign targeting New Jersey's bio-tech and life science industries. This new phase incorporates useful business information and a relocation kit to be sent directly to industry presidents and CEOs in an effort to educate company leaders that Las Vegas is a viable and alternative option to help them improve their bottom line by relocating to Las Vegas. The campaign was first implemented to showcase Las Vegas' growing bio-tech infrastructure in light of New Jersey's recent tax hikes and budget instability.

The second phase of the New Jersey campaign furthers Nevada Development Authority's media campaign by sending specialized Las Vegas Relocation Kits to the majority of the state's bio-tech and life science companies, more than 200 in all. The relocation kits promote the benefits of living and conducting business in Las Vegas. A departure from earlier campaigns implemented in the past, the NDA is educating those leaders targeted with information on the Las Vegas health system, research and technology facilities and the local foreign trade zone.

"Las Vegas is one of the best places to do business," said Somer Hollingsworth, President and CEO of the NDA. "Companies across the country come to Las Vegas because there is a pro-business environment and we're growing at a rapid pace. On top of that, we don't have corporate or personal state income tax. We want to spread the word that Las Vegas is not only about glitz and glamour, but rather a cornucopia of bottom line benefits for corporate America."

The Nevada Development Authority has successfully recruited more than 60 businesses to Las Vegas in the past fiscal year, including high tech, communications and life sciences companies. In the past few years, NDA campaigned primarily in California. Currently, NDA has future plans to keep informing and recruiting businesses on the east coast.

The overall mission of Nevada Development Authority is to attract, retain and expand the business base to enhance the overall socioeconomic environment of Southern Nevada. Established in Las Vegas in 1956, the NDA is Southern Nevada's largest economic development agency and contributes to the area's prosperity by attracting new companies and assisting local companies in expansion projects.
